Saturday, January 25

You are not in darkness, so that that day should overtake you as it would thieves.—1 Thess. 5:4.

Earthshaking events will soon occur. The fulfillment of Bible prophecies confirms this fact, so we need to keep on the watch. What will help us to do that? The apostle Paul urges us to “keep our eyes . . . on the things unseen.” Yes, we need to bear in mind our reward of everlasting life, be it in heaven or on earth. As the context shows, Paul wrote these words to encourage fellow believers to focus on the happy outcome of their faithful course. Doing so would also help them to cope with trials and persecution. (2 Cor. 4:8, 9, 16-18; 5:7) Paul’s admonition contains an important principle: To keep our hope firm, we must look beyond the things that are immediately before us. We need to focus on significant events that are as yet unseen.—Heb. 11:1; 12:1, 2

7-Day Green Smoothie Kickstart Guide

It was January 2011 when I weighed a whopping 245 pounds that I decided to take my health into my own hands. I started a quest to obtain "optimal health"  I was motivated by a desire to discontinue using medications to treat my on-going health conditions.  After months of reading and studying material about natural treatments for Diabetes, Hypertension, Depression, High Cholesterol and Coronary Artery Disease I decided the route I would travel would be to change my diet.

I become a 100% Raw Foodist and after August 2011 I was down to 207 pounds.  My Blood Pressure, Cholesterol and Glucose level were all in the healthy range.  I was no longer Insulin dependent and I was not experiencing Depression.  Things were going good, I was well on my way to achieving optimal health.  However eating only raw fruits and vegetables for me became boring and I slowly gravitated to becoming a Vegan.  December 2011 I was down to 199 pounds.  However, something else started to take place.  The Depression was back and with a vengeance.  I started to fall back into my old behaviors of binge eating.  The cravings for bread, sweets and soda.  And, I began eating more and more cooked food and less raw food.  I even started eating fried fish, and fast food again.  I gained 6 of the 45 pounds back.  My blood pressure and glucose levels are slightly higher and I feel like crap.

I asked myself how can I let all the work I have accomplished just die?  How can I return to being grotesquely over weight, depressed, insulin dependent and miserable?

Time to regain focus on my original objective.  Get back on the band wagon.  I am examining the last few months to determine where I failed.  MOTIVATION somehow I lost the motivation.  People and places I've been around or at have not been ideal for me.  So here I go trying to get back on the band wagon (back on the road to optimal health).

Today I am started the 7-Day Green Smoothie Kick Start Guide by Tracy Russell.  I also decided that I have to write about my journey everyday in order to maintain accountability.  And, I have to return to encouraging others to seek optimal health for themselves.
